DRAMA NIGHT

Sooo, it's finally our turn, JFTers, to perform in Drama Night!! It was yesterday, 25th NOV 2011. The drama night was held at the open stage, melbourne university. It consisted of 4 dramas, mine was the third one, "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?".

the narrator
The story was about two princes who were fighting for a village girl, Inara. Inara fell in love with both of the princes and she couldn't decide which prince she would choose.

Inara & Prince 1, Kurama

Inara & Prince 2, Menkaura

The war broke between the two princes, and Inara's father came to the witch, desperate for a solution. The witch made the two princes believe that Inara was dead by bringing an animal heart which looked like Inara's.
The witch and the hunchback

The two princes believed Inara was dead and they apologized to each other and the war stopped. Finally, the king and queen brought two princesses for each of the princes. But, how bout Inara? She came with the witch but finally she was turned into a deer.

group 3!!!!
It was a memorable night! All our efforts were paid HAHA the costumes, props, make ups, etc etc etc. WE DID IT GUYSSSS! CHEEERRSSS :)

Cafe Victoria

Cafe Victoria is well known for it's breakfast. It's a traditional australian-american breakfast. It opens 7 days a week, serves breakfast from 6am in the morning.

The price is very affordable, which makes a lot of people come here. But you must be a bit patient bcos sometimes they need quite long time to serve you.

For the breakfast menu, I suggest to order eggs benedict. It's very nice. Or if you want something big, you can try full breakfast or big breakfast.

And for the drinks, the banana smoothies wass to die for!hahaha too bad I didn't order that, I was trying Alvina's. But the ice coffee was also nice. With vanilla ice cream on top, it was great!

CHIN CHIN RESTAURANT

Last sunday my friends and I went to chin chin restaurant, which is located on flinders lane. It serves a wide range of asian foods, combination of vietnamese, malaysian, and thai food I THINK. hahaha

It's not an ordinary chinese restaurant, and it's not like any other asian restaurants. Its decoration and vibe is more like a european restaurant with lounge music and dimmed lights. It also provides cocktails and other drinks and lots of ppl come only for a drink.

We ordered the Spicy Corn & Coriander Fritters and also the pork rolls for the appetizer. We also got Massaman Curry of Coconut Braised Hopkins River Beef Brisket. Me personally think that it tastes quite similar with Indonesian beef rendang. And we ordered wild barramundi wrapped in banana leaf, which is very good!!! It's very nice with the sambal on top. HAHA not only those, we got the king fish wings served with fresh kind-of-thai salad. Too bad I cannot get all the photos of the food because of the bad lighting.

But don't worry, I'll give OUR photos!

They also have many kinds of scented organic tea from serendipiTEA.

MADAME SOUSOU

Madame Sousou is a French Restaurant in Fitzroy. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But yesterday we tried their bfast menu. It was great!!!!
I ordered Funghi A La Parisienne, which is a toasted brioche with buttered mushroom, smashed avocado, and goat cheese rondelle. And I added poached egg on top of it.

Stacey got the Sweetcorn and zucchini Fritters which is also good. It was served with smoked salmon, avocado salsa, and horseradish creme. Here's the picture!!

And Alditha ordered the basic one, the egg benedict. It was served on an english muffin with Tasmanian smoked salmon and tarragon hollandaise sauce. It's quite similar with the one she had at European cafe.

After all, Madame Sousou is a good place to have breakfast with your family, friends, or maybe in business context. The dress code is casual so it's easier for us to go there whenever we want and in whatever clothes we are!

Pasta Mista is their unique name for 3 different cooked pastas in a plate. It supposed to be shared for only two ppl, but it's way tooo big!hahaha soo we shared it with 6 persons. It was the first time that we finished the whole plate. HAHA

Caesar Salad
Gelato
The caesar salad and the gelato are quite good as well, and we were all full and happy! haha but what's the most important is that the price is very down to earth!!!!!!!

happy birthday ROBBY!

happy birthday!
soooo, yeah it's robby's bday!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to youuu from kiddos :))

The night before his bday, we managed to get his eyes closed. We dragged him around the city and finally took him to his room. We've stolen his apartment key so we could come in and prepared the surprise!

Robby with his eyes closed
We gave him a box, which was wrapped by newspaper. He tried hard to open the multiple layers or wrapping! HAHA and he found out there was another box inside the first box, and another box inside the second one :p
1st box!

2nd one
And it was just our trick! We actually didn't put the real present inside the box, we've hide it somewhere else HAHA soo here's what he found inside the last box

finally HAHA!!
'Maaf! Anda kurang beruntung' means 'Sorry! It's just not your luck' ahaha he need to find the real present. And remembering that his room was already full with newspapers, it was hard for him to find it but finally he made it! yeayyyyy

it's KIDDOS :*
It's a memorable night! It was the first time ever one of us had our birthday. We realized that we need each other and we care about one another. Remember, YOU'VE GOT A FRIEND :)))

And it all followed by a dinner at Meat & Wine. Although we need to walk in rain and wind, it was a very good night. We dressed up and ready to celebrate Robby's birthday HAHA
We ordered six steaks for each of us and beef carpaccio as the starter, and also one full rack ribs for sharing. We were so full but happy at the same time.

La Belle Miette
La Belle Miette. French words for "beautiful small thing". La Belle Miette is a small shop, small cafe which sells many flavors of macaroons. To complement the macaroons, it offers teas from Mariage Freres and also lemonade.

The small cafe really makes us feel like we're in France. All white furnitures make it more classic and beautiful. They also hv many decorations which are also made from macaroons.

Gaijin Japanese Fusion

Gaijin is a restaurant in Melbourne, owned by Indonesians. They offer wide range of fusion sushi, which are similar with those in Indonesia, Sushi Tei and Sushigroove I think.

What I recommend from this restaurant is Gaijin Special Salmon Salad and Spider VS Dragon Roll. They are the best seller in Gaijin. The dishes here are quite small, you better order many of 'em HAHA

I came here with 5 of my friends. First, we ordered 2 appetizers and 6 plates of sushi. It all gone only in a couple of minutes!! Then we ordered 3 more main courses, which are also good. The fried rice and beef teriyaki are nice, but the special king fish is the BEST.

Lincoln Square - Bali Memorial

Lincoln Square Park is a memorial park for Bali bombing's victim. It is located at Lincoln Square, Swanston Street, Carlton. The park is not too big, but it's quite nice and fresh bcos it is surrounded by big trees.

me and alvina
Luckily, this park is just in front of Trinity College, the place where I study. And today, our biology teacher let us study outside, in the park, remembering that the weather today was very nice. It was a bit hot tho but we found a nice spot under the shades of a tree. We spent one and a half hour there. Doing tutorial questions, chatting, relaxing, and taking photos HAHA

biology students

Aaaandd, it's US! It's not the whole class of course. Some students decided to stay inside the classroom with aircon. Too bad huh? That was actually six of us there, but Ranon took the photo for the girls haha

OKAY! Hopefully tmrw's weather will be as nice as today! Cao ~~

BAILLIEU LIBRARY

Baillieu Library

Library? Sounds boring right? But not this one!
Baillieu Library is the biggest library in University of Melbourne, which located at Parkville Campus. It supports the need of undergraduates, postgraduates, and also researchers. This library acts as a place where students study hard, struggling, but also as a place for relaxation.
Ground Floor
Students, included me, spend much of their times in Baillieu. They might be studying for exam, doin assignment, or simply just using the wifi connection HAHA

I often hang around here lately. We just meet up there, doin some homework and helping each other with their difficulties in college's stuff. We always end up having a nice chat and conversation instead of studying hard and seriously. But that's the best part from our routine in the library.

BAILLIEU LIBRARY

It's time for my new life here in Australia, fellas!
